I was born in Vancouver, Washington and have lived here the majority of my life. I am an only child and live with my dad. I am a graduate of Fort Vancouver High School, Class of 2012. I graduated in the top 10% of my class. Upon graduation my GPA was slightly above 3.7. Throughout high school I was involved in: Class Council, Track and Field, Cheerleading, SWEM, and Circle of Friends. I was also fortunate enough to secure a job tutoring 7th- 8th grade students. In the fall of 2012 I will be attending Arizona State University (ASU) where I plan to major in English. Upon graduation from ASU, I would like to attend graduate school (destination unknown at the moment). Ultimately, I would like to pursue a career as an editor or technical writer.

I was born in Portland, OR on November 15 1993 and grew up in Vancouver, WA for the majority of my life. I gradated from Hudson’s Bay High School with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and was very involved with extracurricular activities both inside and outside of school. At HBHS I was involved with soccer, tennis, key club, red cross club, and flight crew. Aside from academics I have been a youth group leader for middle school students at my church and volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity Store regularly all week. This summer I am even working as a paid intern as a youth ministries leader. In the fall I will be attending Western Washington University and plan to create my own major combining Human Services and Environmental Policy & Design. After college I hope to work for a non-profit organization such as Habitat for Humanity. If I was not chosen as a recipient for the Our Three Moms Scholarship I would not be able to attend college this coming fall. At the beginning of my senior year my parents separated and there were many hardships that came along with the divorce. I was terrified that I would not be able to attend a university, but at the end of the school year everything seemed to fall into place, especially when I got a call saying that I was chosen to receive the OTM Scholarship. Thank you so much!

2006 Scholarship Recipient

Katie Magno graduated from Fort Vancouver High School with honors, where she participated in cheerleading and student government among a host of other extracurricular activities. She is currently studying Biology at the University of Washington. She has averaged over a 3.0 GPA in each semester at UW and has plans to attend nursing school after graduating.

I was born in Pasadena, CA. My parents split in 1995 due to on-going drug problems. Soon thereafter, my dad relocated to Vancouver, WA. My mom followed my dad to Vancouver, WA so that my sister and I would have an active father in our lives, and give us an opportunity for a better life. I started my 4th grade year in Vancouver, and continued all the way through HS. I am an alumni of the great Fort Vancouver High School, and I graduated with a 3.7 GPA. While I attended FVHS, I poured myself into numerous activities such as Volleyball, Swimming, Tennis, Dance Team, ASB, Student Council and Mentoring. All of which I absolutely loved.
